Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements
Continuing Education or PDH is known as CPD in Maine

Here is a summary of the engineering continuing education requirements mandated by the Maine Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.

Subject Requirement
Hours Required 30 hours biennially
Renewal Dates December 31 of odd-numbered years for all engineers
Board Approval The Board does not pre-approve providers or specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board’s requirements.
Approved Content Professional development hours shall be relevant to the practice of engineering. Such continuing education activities may include technical, ethical, or managerial material. No other specific advice is given.
Approved Activities Online continuing education is accepted by the Maine Board.
PDH Carryover A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
